Lundegarrd (Babylon, N.Y.) had four goals and three assists to lead
Keene State College to a 12-7 victory over the University of
Southern Maine in a Little East Conference women's lacrosse game
played at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Keene State improves to 7-6 (3-2 LEC) while Southern Maine drops
to 4-7 (3-2 LEC).
Five different Owl players scored as KSC moved out to a 5-2
halftime lead. The Huskies closed the gap to two goals three
times in the second half, the latest on a goal by Sarah Proulx
(Hebron, Me.) that made it 7-5 at the 18:04 mark.
Keene State scored five of the next six goals in the game,
including three by Lundeggard, to go up 12-6.
Playing in her final home regular season game, senior Michelle
Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) finished with two goals and two
assists. Stephanie Georgevits (Concord, N.H.) had two goals
and Michelle Mazzota (Cromwell, Conn.), Andrea Mitchell Bow, N.H.),
Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.), and Alex Manzin (Avon Conn.) added
single goals for KSC.
Justene Larnerd (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Jennifer Landez
(Springvale, Me.) had two goals each for USM.
Mandy Gray (Sharon, Mass.) had 10 saves for the Owls while Jenna
Wasylak (Dunstable, Mass.), who had a strong game in goal for the
Huskies, finished with 18 saves.
Both teams conclude their regular season with LEC games on
Sunday. KSC travels to Eastern Conn. while USM returns home
to face Plymouth State.
