'KEENE, N.H. 04/16/06 - Ten different Owl players scored as
Keene State College trounced Western Connecticut State University
16-1 in a Little East Conference women's lacrosse game played at
Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Keene State improves to 5-7 (3-1 LEC) while Western Conn. (0-11,
04 LEC) remains winless.
Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon, N.Y.) netted three goals, and
Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.), Colleen Murphy (Mansfield, Mass.),
Lanaya Nelson (Chester, Conn.), and Michelle Mazzotta (Cromwell,
Conn.) had two goals each to lead KSC's offense.
The Owls, who had a 43-4 shot advantage, jumped out to a 5-0
lead six minutes into the game on the way to building a 12-0
halftime lead.
The Colonial's Caitlin Everin (Glastonbury, Conn.) prevented the
shutout with a goals in the final minutes of play.
Mandy Gray (Sharon, Mass.) made one saves for the Owls.
Melissa Perry (Danbury, Conn.) had a busy day in the Colonial's
goal stopping 17 shots.
Keene State is at Colby-Sawyer College on Monday (4 p.m.).
WCSU is at Mount St. Vincent on Monday.
