'WATERVILLE, Maine - The eighth-ranked Colby College women's
lacrosse team won for the eighth straight time with Sunday's 21-3
non-conference victory over Keene State College at Bill Alfond
Field.
The Mules have scored 153 goals (17 goals per game average) in
their 8-1 start to the season. Keene State dropped to 4-6 with the
loss.
Elizabeth Ghilardi (Norwell, Mass.) had three goals and four
assists to lead Colby, which led 14-1 at halftime. Courtney Drake
(Falmouth, Maine) finished with four goals and one assist, while
Allie Libby (Needham, Mass.) had one goal and three assists.
Colby scored five goals in the opening 5:04 of play to take
command.
Carrie Lovejoy (Old Greenwich, Conn.) and Lauren Barrett
(Fairfield, Conn.) both had two goals and one assist, while Cary
Finnegan (West Hartford, Conn.) had one goal and two assists for
Colby. Kate Sheridan (Hingham, Mass.) and Heather Nickerson
(Falmouth, Mass.) both had two goals. Sarah Kunkel (Westwood,
Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal for the Mules and Kelsey
Neville (Duxbury, Mass.), Becky Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) and
Lauren Strazzula (Norwell, Mass.) also had one goal.
Colleen Murphy (Mansfield, Mass.) finished with two goals to
lead Keene State. Stephanie Georgevits (Concord, N.H.) added one
goal for the Owls.
Colby plays host to Plymouth State in a non-conference game
Tuesday at 5 p.m. Keene State plays at Plymouth State this Thursday
at 4 p.m.
