'CUMBERLAND, ME 09/16/06 - Keene State College All-American
Jennifer Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) raced to a victory at the
Bates Invitational held in Cumberland, Me., on Saturday.The junior
posted a winning time of 19:00 over the 5K course.
Freshman Rita Marcotte (Health, Mass.) was the Owls' second
finisher. She placed ninth (20:18). Other top finishers included:
Sophie Holly (Ledyard, Conn.) (15th/20:49), Sarah Miller (Walpole,
N.H.) (18th/21:13), and Nicolle Siddall (Cheshire, Conn.)
(20th/21:32).
KSC finished third with 61 points. MIT won the women's
title with 25 points.
For the second straight week, sophomore Brock Welch (Merrimack,
N.H.) was the top finisher for the Owl men's team. He placed second
on the 8K course with a time of 27:16. Freshman Patrick Davis
(Wethersfield, Conn.) placed 10th with a time of 27:47. Jason
Garrity (Topsfield, Mass.), (13th/27:53), Jared Samuel
(Londonderry, N.H.) (20th/28:29), and Casey Driscoll (Salem, Mass.)
round out KSC's top finishers.
KSC finished fourth with 69 points. Jake Ruzevick finished first
in the race (26:57) to lead MIT (32 points) to the team
championship.
The Owls return to the trails on Sat., Sept. 30 when they host
the KSC Invitational (11 a.m.).
