'KEENE, N.H. 4/13/07 - The Keene State College women's
lacrosse team dropped its first Little East Conference game of the
season, a 12-2 setback to rival Plymouth State University at Owl
Athletic Complex on Friday evening.
Keene State falls to 4-4 (2-1 LEC). Plymouth State (5-3,
1-1 LEC) picked up its first LEC win of the season.
Meg Cupoli (Southboro, Mass.) had four goals to lead the
Panthers. Cassidy Barry (Branford, Conn.) and Taylor Cambal
(West Yarmouth, Mass.) finished with two goals each.
The Owls scored a goal in each half. Lanaya Nelson
(Cheshire, Conn.) tallied the first goal of the game, but the
Panthers answered with the next five goals to go up 5-1.
Cupoli netted two of the Panthers' goals in the uprising.
PSU scored five consecutives to go up 10-1 in the second half,
before Lauren Cooper (Danbury, Conn.) found the back of the net for
the Owls.
Jen Gearing (Westfield, Mass.) had 13 saves for KSC. Suzie
Lilakos (Stratham, N.H.) stopped five shots for the Panthers.
On Saturday, Keene State is at Western Conn.while Plymouth State
travels to Rhode Island College. Both games start at 1 p.m.
