KEENE, N.H. 9/4/07 - Keene State men's cross country alumni proved they still have something left in their tank by edging a group of current Owl runners at the team's alumni meet on Saturday at Owl Athletic Complex.
Three alumni runners finished among the top-five to lead them to a 25-30 victory.
Dave Bridgewater, a two-time cross country All-American, finished first with a time of 15:50 over the 3.1 mile course. Josh Ferenc was third (16:05) and Wilson Perez, an Owl assistant coach, was fifth (16:12).
Brock Welch (Merrimack, N.H.) led the current Owl runners with a second place finish (16:01). Craig MacPherson, a promising freshman from Derry, N.H., was fourth (16:06).
Jennifer Adams (Saratoga, N.Y.) and Breanne Lucey (Keene, N.H.) crossed the finish line with a time of 11:24 to share first place honors in the women's two mile race. Adams was an All-American last season.
Stephanie Westcott placed third (11:51) to lead the alumni team.
KSC begins its season at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.
