KEENE, N.H., 4/22/08 - Four Owl players netted three goals as the
Keene State women's lacrosse team rolled to a 19-8 non-conference
win over Castleton State on Tuesday night.
Keene State, which has won seven of its last eight games, improves
to 10-5. Castleton falls to 7-6.
Freshmen Jill Kirk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.),
Jamie Albert (Southington, Conn.), and
Jenny Lillis (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore
Dene Tully (Peabody, Mass.) scored three goals
each. Senior Lanaya Nelson (Chester, Conn.) and freshman
Missy Luzzi (Oakland, N.J.) tallied twice, and
senior Andrea Mitchell (Bow, N.H.), junior
Molly Corcoran (Concord, N.H.), and freshman
Annie Brown (Westwood, Mass.) added single
goals. It was the first college goal for Brown.
With the score
knotted at two-all, KSC rattled off the next seven goals and held a
11-4 halftime lead.
Freshman
Marie VanDerker (Manchester, Vt.) led the Spartans with three
goals.
Making
her first college start, freshman Meghan Ledoux
(Standish, Me.) finished the game with seven saves. Junior
Meredith Pope made 12 saves for CSC.
Keene
State is back in action on Saturday with a LEC game against
Southern Maine (1 p.m.).
