WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. 11/7/09 - Keene State College finished 14th
in the women's race and 15th in the men's field at the ECAC
Division III Cross Country Championships at Mt. Greylock Regional
High School in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday.
The Owl women finished the race with 472 points. Senior
Melissa Pelletier (Merrimack, N.H.) paced KSC with
a 37th place finish (25:26) on the 6,000-meter course.
Sophomores Heather Pierce (Buckland, Mass.) was
51st (25:42) and Natalie Ferro (Dennis, Mass.)
65th (25:56) respectively.
Johanna Spangler of Vassar won the race with a time of 22:51
while Middlebury took home the team title with 37 points.
Sophomore Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.) was
the first runner to the finish line for the owl men, who tallied
401 points. Loonan placed 58th overall with a time of
28:21. Other top finishers for KSC included sophomore
Kevin Mulcahy (Queensbury, N.Y. who placed 65th
(28:31) and senior Brian Anderson (Pembroke, N.H.)
who came in 86th (28:47).
Greg Redfield of Johnson&Wales University won the race with
a time of 26:11. Williams College won its fifth consecutive
ECAC championship with 85 points. Rec. Area Cumberland, Maine
Keene State races next Saturday at the NCAA New England Regional
Championship at Twin Brooks Recreation Area Cumberland, Maine.
