SPRINGFIELD, MASS. 5/2/09 - Keene State sophomore
Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) continued his
strong spring season by capturing the hammer and discus events at
the New England Division III Track and Field Championships at
Springfield College on Saturday.
Kolacz had a winning throw of 189'-10" in the hammer and a mark
of 154'-09" in the discus.
On the track, senior Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.)
won the 800-meter race with a time of 1:52.84 and sophomore
Corey Loonan (Sandwich, Mass.) was fourth in the
3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:39.13.
KSC placed ninth in the team standings with 35 points.
Williams won the championship with 136.66 points.
In the women's field, senior Samantha Hirsh
(Holliston, Mass.) placed second in the javelin with a throw of
125'-00". Sophomore Allison Chamberlain
(Scarborough, Me.) finished sixth in the 899-meter race with a time
of 2:16.74.
KSC finished 13th in the team scoring with 16 points. MIT won
the meet with 152.50 points.
