SPRINGFIELD, MASS. 4/17/10 - Keene State athletes won three
events at the Springfield College Track Invitational on Saturday.
Junior Tim Pipp (New Ipswich, N.H.) won the
5,000-meter race in a time of 15:19.40.
In field events, junior Nick White (Westbrook,
Conn.) placed first in the discus with a throw of
131'-03”. He also placed third in the hammer
(143'-09”). Freshman Glenn Guilmette
(Kensington, N.H.) took third in the javelin (171').
The KSC men finished with 56 points to finish seventh in the
team standings. Westfield State won the team title with 167.50
points.
Freshman Janel Haggerty (Guilford, Conn.) had
the top performance for the Owl women, winning the high jump with a
mark of 4'-11”).
The KSC women tallied 21 point, placing eighth in the team
scoring. Host Springfield won the meet with 235 points.
Keene State competes next Saturday at the Little East Alliance
Championship at UMass-Dartmouth.
