NEW HAVEN, CONN. 5/13/11 – Several Keene State field athletes turned in strong performances at the New England Open Track and Field Championships at Southern Conn. State University in New Haven on Friday.
Senior Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) finished second in the hammer throw event with a mark of 199'-10". Sophomore Glenn Guilmette (Kensington, N.H.) placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 192'-08".
On the track, seniors Eric MacKnight (Newtown, Conn.) and Tim Pipp (Keene, N.H.) finished fifth (31:28.27) and sixth (31:31.35) respectively in the 10K race.
After seven events, Keene State is in seventh place with 18 points. Host SCSU leads the standings with 46 points.
Freshman Kristen Huckins (Westmoreland, N.H.) scored the lone point for the Keene State women, placing eighth in the javelin (123'-02").
After five events, UNH leads the women's field with 38 points.
