BRISTOL, R.I. 11/9/13 – The Keene State College men's cross country team finished ninth while the Owl women took 12th at the ECAC Division III Championships held at Colt Park in Bristol, R.I. on Saturday.
The Keene State men had 273 points. Williams College captured its eighth title in the last nine year won the championship with 26 points.
The Owl women had 353 points. Middlebury raced to fifth consecutive crown with 30 points.
Final spots on next week's New England Regional race were up for grabs for KSC, which fielded teams mostly consisting of sub-varsity runners.
Senior Nick Riendeau (Canterbury, N.H.) was the top finisher for the Owls, placing 16th on the 8K course with a time of 26:30. Sophomore Mark Rabasco (Pittsfield, Mass.) was KSC second man with a time of 26:44.
Sophomore Brandon Davis-O'Donnell (Nashua, N.H.), who was 34th (26:57), freshman Patrick Chabot (Derry, N.H.), who was 96th (27:58) and senior jay Borden (Keene, N.H.0, who was 106th (28:15) round out the top finishers for Keene State.
Sophomore Molly Schaefer (Center Moriches, N.Y.) led the KSC women, finishing 50th on the 6k course with a time of 24:19. Freshman Katelyn Terry (Stafford, N.H.) was nine spots back in 59th place (24:32).
Other top finishers for KSC included: junior Hannah Doolittle (Hampstead, N.H.) who was 73rd (24:51), Senior Brianna Enderson (Manchester, N.H.), who was 82nd (24:58) and sophomore Courtney Bricault (Cumberland, R.I.) who was the 100th runner (25:18) to the finish line.
Keene State will race at the New England regional championships next Saturday in Gorham, Maine.
