EASTON, MASS. 5/11/13 – Keene State junior Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine) continued his strong spring season by winning the 1,500-meter race at the New England Track and Field Championships held at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. on Saturday.
Widzgowski, ranked second in the event in Division III, posted a winning time of 3:50.39.
Senior Marcus Ferenc (Westmoreland, N.H.) also earned All-New England honors with his sixth place finish (184'-01") in the javelin.
Sophomore Ben Keach (Newfields, N.H.) placed 11th in the discus (136'-02') and 12th in the shotput (49'-02.25"). His mark in the shot was a new KSC record.
Southern Conn. won the men's team championship with 159 points.
Freshman Ashley Rozzi (Woodbury, Conn.) had the top performance by the Keene State women at the meet, finishing ninth in the javelin (118'-8").
The University of Rhode Island captured the women's team title with 91.50 points.
