Records Fall On NEISDA Makeup Day

BOSTON, Mass.--Three members of the Keene State College swimming and diving teams set pool records as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships concluded with a makeup of the third day of competition at Simmons College.

The Owls were already crowned champions after the first two days of competition last weekend.

Diana Pimer set records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.  Pimer won the 200 breast in 2:21.11, breaking a 24 year old pool record by 3.49 seconds, set in 1991.  She also set a new record in the 100 breast in 1:06.54 in a time trial event.

Alison Bartlett also set a new Holmes Sports Center Natatorium and NEISDA record in the 50 free, in 23.39 record in a time trial to break a NEISDA mark set by Kaila Umbarger in 2011.  

Katherine Brady also set a new pool record in the 200 fly in 2:09.19, bursting past a mark set in 1998.

The KSC men picked up a win from Christopher Deegan in the 1,650 free in 15:53.60.

The Owls also scooped up two awards for the championship, with senior Randy Dunton named the Bruce Hutchinson Male Swimmer of the Meet, and head coach Jack Fabian being named the Charles Silvia Men's Swimming Coach of the Year.
