Box Score Clermont, Fla. - The Keene State College women's lacrosse team suffered a 14-6 setback to Springfield College Tuesday afternoon at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida.
The Owls fall to 0-6 on the season, while the Pride improve to 6-2 with the win.
Springfield jumped out to an early 5-0 lead over the first 7:21 of the contest, beneffiting from a pair of goals from Michelle Dorsey and one marker each from Kerstin Lindrooth, Olivia Cabral and junior midfielder Heather Raniolo.
With 20:42 remaining in the first half, Taylor Graf got the Owls on the board after burying a feed from Jenna Bellano, before adding her second goal of the contest just 35 seconds later to cut Keene State's deficit to three.
After Liz Robinson found the back of the net for the Owls with 16:24 left in the stanza, Springfield rattled off three-straight goals including a pair from Cabral and one from Paige Campbell to give the Pride an 8-3 lead with 3:31 left in the frame.
Keene State then scored back-to-back goals from Bellano and Polly Grey before Lindrooth ended the first half with a goal off a feed from Kayla Schroeher with 12 seconds on the clock to send the Pride into halftime with a 9-5 lead.
Vickie Whalen added Keene State's lone goal of the second half with 14:22 on the clock.
Graf notched two tallies for the Owls, while Bellano assisted on two goals. Lindrooth led the Pride with a six goal effort followed by hat tricks from Cabral and Dorsey.
Keene State held a slight 29-28 advantage in ground balls and a 25-22 edge in shots over the course of the game, while Springfield posted 15 draw controls to the Owls' seven.
The Owls will play their final game in Florida tomorrow against Hamilton College at 5:00 p.m. at the National Training Center.
