Box Score KEENE, N.H. - Kaitlin Nolan and Christa Demovellan each recorded three goals as they helped pace the Keene State College women's lacrosse team to a 16-5 triumph over Rhode Island College in women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Owl Stadium.
With the win, the Owls improve to 3-9 overall and 3-0 in the LEC.
Polly Grey, Emilee Silegy and Jenna Bellano each finished with two scores. Tara Kilderry had a great day on defense collecting seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Danielle Landon led the Anchorwomen (0-8) with two markers and four ground balls.
The Anchorwomen gave the Owls a scare, going up 2-1 on goals by Jessica Trautman and Danielle Landon for a 2-1 lead with 27:29 on the clock.
KSC responded with nine-straight goals to end the half, taking a 10-2 lead into halftime.
RIC opened the second stanza with Landon's second score of the game. Demeovellan and Silegy added two more for the home team for a 12-3 advantage.
After a Rhode Island College goal, Keene State freshman Kylie Coppola notched her first goal of the season as the Owls would outscore the visitors 3-1 to end the game.
Goalkeepers Alison Argiro and Cheyenne Mata-Notel combined to make four saves for the win, while Alasondra Apici had a busy day stopping 10 for RIC.
KSC held the 17-5 advantage in in draw controls while also leading in ground balls 39-23.
Keene State returns to action Tuesday when they host conference rival Plymouth State at 4 p.m. RIC looks to pick up their first win of the season Tuesday at Southern Maine.
