STORRS, Conn.--Ryan Boraski picked up where he left off a season ago, winning the 100 yard freestyle with the fastest time in the nation as the Keene State College swimming and diving team began the 2016-17 season at a tri-meet with the University of Bridgeport and the University of Connecticut at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.

Men's Highlights

• Boraski, a six-time All-American, won the 100 freestyle in in 46.16, currently the fastest time in NCAA Division III.  He also won the 50 freestyle in 21.44, the second fastest time in the country, and was third in the 200 free in 1:42.98.
• Nathan Shepard was third in the 100 breaststroke in 59.96, while Jake Driscoll was third on the 1-meter board with a score of 177.22, and third on the 3-meter board, scoring 154.50.
• Freshman Kyle Shadeck won the 200 IM in 2:02.55, and was fourth in the 200 fly in 2:00.25.

Women's Highlights 

• Hope Walsh took second in the 500 freestyle, with a time of 5:31.42,
• Walsh was also part of the 400 free relay team with Molly O'Connor, Rachel MacKinnon, and Paige Westley that took second in 4:05.52.
• Margaret Dean placed second in the 100 fly, in 1:01.49.
