Box Score BOSTON, Mass.--Emerson College scored scored five goals in a nine minute span late in the second half to break open a close game in a 17-13 win over Keene State College in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday night. It was the season opener for both teams.

- Kaitlin Nolan led Keene State with four goals, while Samantha Ballard and Taylor Farland each had three.

First Half Highlights

- Emerson responded with four straight goals, the last of which from Meredith Weber with 9:43 to go in the first gave the Lions their first lead of the game.
- The two teams traded goals until Emerson's Tara Windsor scored with 7:09 left to give the Lions a 7-6 lead at halftime.
Second Half Highlights
- Emerson extended the lead to three with goals from Morrisette and Lemire in the early minutes of the second half, but Keene State got two goals from Farland 1:35 apart to pull back within 9-8 with 23 minutes left.
- The Lions nudged back in front 12-9 on Emily Quinn's free position effort with 17:22 left, but Nolan scored twice, the second coming with 16:24 on the clock to make it a 12-10 game.
- Emerson put the game out of reach by scoring five of the next six goals, including two by Quinn, for a 17-11 lead that Keene State could not come back from. Nolan and Ballard scored with less than three minutes to go, but the Owls could not get closer.
