Women's Lacrosse Falls To MIT

KEENE, N.H.--Kaitlin Nolan had four goals and two assists, and Alison Argiro made 12 saves as the Keene State College women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-12 decision to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturay at Owl Athletic Complex.

  • MIT has won two straight over KSC and leads in all-time meetings 4-3.

Tale of the Tape

  • Jenna Bellano and Tori Weinstock each had three goals, while Taylor Graf had five assists.  Kelly Chadnick and Taylor Farland netted a goal apiece.
  • Nolan also won four draw controls.  Weinstock, Natalie Barnett, and Laura Gendreau had three ground balls each.
  • MIT got a four goal game from Cecilia McCormick.  Hannah Levy and Katie Notarangelo had three each and Emily Young had two.
  • Eva Boal made 13 stops for the Engineers. 

First Half Highlights

  • Kira Schott and Farland traded goals in the early going.  Notarangelo scored on a free position shot at the 26:31 mark, but Bellano scored on either side of a goal from Nolan as KSC took a 4-2 lead.
  • MIT tied the game as McCormick scored, then set up Nadia Wallace for a goal with 19:30 left.
  • Nolan netted two more, and McMormick another, before Notarangelo and Young scored to give MIT a 7-6 lead at halftime.

Second Half Highlights

  • The Owls went back in front early in the second half.  Kelly Chadnick scored her first goal in nearly a year on a free position shot with 21:50 left, and Weinstock got her first of the game for an 8-7 lead with 19:47 to go.
  • MIT took the lead for good with four straight goals in a 12 minute span.  Levy set up McCormick to tie the game at 8-8, then scored the next three herself.
  • Graft fed Weinstock for a goal that cut it to 12-10, but Young, then McCormick scored with 2:16 left for a 14-12 lead.
  • Bellano pulled one back for KSC, then Nolan scored her fourth with 17 seconds left, but KSC could not get closer
