Hannon, Terry, and Magoon Win Events At Springfield Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Jared Hannon won the long jump for the second consecutive week as the Keene State College track and field team ran at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday.  Three member's of the women's squad also ran at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J.

Men

  • Hannon, who won the long jump at Fitchburg State last weekend at 6.75 meters, bettered that mark by .11 to qualify for the Open New England and ECAC Championship meets.  The freshman also won the triple jump, leaping 12.79 meters to edge out teammate Quenin Bazarnicki, who was second in 12.79 meters.
  • Alex Magoon was also a winner, throwing the javelin 51.82 meters to win comfortably and qualify for the New England Division III Championships.
  • Devin Sanford was third in the 400 meter dash in 51.39, with teammate Eric Deitz in seventh in 52.06.   The two comprised the 4x100 meter relay with Hannon and Bazarnicki that placed third in 45.42.  That same foursome won the 4x400 meter relay in 3:30.41.
  • Bazarnicki was fourth in the pole vault in 3.80 meters.  
  • Kody Parrott was sixth in the 800 meter run in 2:00.43.  Ryan Brady was fifth in the 1,500 meters in 4:12.84.
  • Mark Rabasco took second in the 5,000 meters in 15:57.47, just ahead of Phillip Parent, who was third in 16:01.81.
  • Ian Connell was second in the steeplechase in 10:29.37.  
  • Adam Freiman was sixth in the hammer with a toss of 40.46 meters.  

Women

  • Katelyn Terry also won for the second weekend in a row, taking the 400 meter dash in 58.96.  She also placed fifth in the 200 meter dash in 26.53.  Lindsey Terry was fourth in the 400 in 1:01.27.
  • Katelyn Terry also was second in the triple jump, with a NEDIII qualifying leap of 10.87 meters.
  • Allison Brady was seventh in the 800 meter run in 2:26.14.  Lindsey Terry was eighth in 10.19 meters.
  • Katelyn Terry, Lindsey Terry, Brady, and Brittany Gravellese made up the 4x400 meter relay team that finished in 4:16.22.
  • Karisa Bergman was seventh in the shotput in 11.17 meters to qualify for the ECAC Championships.  Bergman also took fifth in the discus at 33.29 meters.  Ashley Rozzi was third in the javelin at 36.69 meters.
  • Meanwhile, Lauren Markoe, Kait Wheeler, and Lindsey Szuch competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational.
  • Markoe ran the 800 meters in 2:17.05, easily beating the qualifying times for the New England Division III, Open New England, and ECAC Championships.
  • Wheeler ran the 1,500 meters in 4:40.01, the sixth fastest time for Division III competitors.  Suzch finished the 5,000 meters in 18:30.79.
