First Half Highlights

  • Keene State, which had beaten Castleton 13-10 back on April 12, traded goals with the Spartans for much of the first half.  Nolan scored off a pass from Graf, while Castleton countered with MacKay's first of the day.
  • After Chadnick and Nolan had scored either side of a free position goal from Castleton's Grace Johnson, the Spartans surged into a 4-3 lead courtesy of two more goals from MacKay.
  • The Owls responded with the final three goals of the half, including back-to-back unassisted tallies from Farland, and Erica Stauffer's man-up goal with 2:12 remaining as the Owls led 6-4 at halftime.

Second Half Highlights

  • The Spartans pulled within one with MacKay's fourth of the game, but Keene State eased into an 8-5 lead as Nolan scored on a free position effort with 22:59 on the clock, and Graf set up Chadnick for another goal 33 seconds later.
  • Castleton launched an offensive outburst, scoring four straight for a 9-8 lead.  Maria Ploof netted the first two during that stretch, while MacKay had another and Nadine Downing scored the final with 15:52 to go.
  • Tara Kilderry tied the game for Keene State, taking a pass from Jenna Bellano and scoring past Meghan Els, to set the stage for Weinstock's heroics with 7:09 to go to put the Owls in front for good.
  • There would be one last opportunity for the Spartans, but O'Brien stuffed Tiffany Danyow on a free position shot with 10 seconds remaining as the Owls ran out the clock.
