Boraski, Driscoll Star at Tech Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass.--The Keene State College swimming and diving teams warmed up for the Little East Conference and New Engand Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships at the Tech Sprints at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The meet, which also featured Bates College, Roger Williams University, and the hosts WPI, saw both the Owl men and women finish fourth.

Highlights

  • Ryan Boraski won three events, nearly breaking his own record in the 100 free by winning in 44.64, a mere .4 off his school mark set last season.  Boraski also took the 200 free in 1:43.44, and earlier in the day, won the 100 free preliminary in 45.62.  He added a third place finish in the 50 back in 25.07.
  • Freshman Kyle Shadeck won the 400 IM in 4:16.92, while taking second in the B-final of the 100 fly in 54.07, and winning the B-final of the 100 IM in 56:03.  
  • Senior Graham Lott won the C-final in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.29, and was second in the B-final of the 200 IM, in 2:07.49.  
  • Sophomore Jake Driscoll took second on the 1-meter diving, scoring 389.75, as well as placing second on the 3-meter board with a total score of 395.00.
  • Freshman Molly O'Connor won the 1,000 freestyle in 12:27.25, while classmate Maureen Pycko took the C-final of the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.06.
