KINGSTON, R.I.--The Keene State College swimming and diving teams continued competition at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships at the University of Rhode Island on Friday.
Women's Highlights
The Keene State women remain in third place after two days of competition, with 460 points. Roger Williams leads the competition with 580 points, with Simmons College in second with 561 points.
Margaret Dean, Hannah Wood, Kristyn Simoneau, and Emily McMahon comprised the 200 free relay that finished in third place in 1:39.93. Hope Walsh took home second place in the 500 free in 5:08.48, while Sophie Hayes notched a win in the 100 fly in 58.14. Madison Pechulis added a second place nod in the 50 yard breaststroke in 30.76.
Dean also notched a third place finish in the 50 free, in 24.77, then teamed up with Madison Pechulis, Hayes, and Wood, for a third place finish in the 400 medley relay in 3:59.81.
Men's Highlights
Zack Collins won the "B" final of the 100 fly in 57.11, while Eric King finished in a tie for fourth place in the 200 backstroke in 1:57.63. Kyle Shadeck was second in the 200 IM in 1:53.64, the third fastest time in school history.
Shadeck, King, Jay Fritz, and Patrick Doyle made up the 200 free relay team that finished in 1:31.27. The Keene State men remain in fifth place after two days of competition, with 137.5 points.
