KINGSTON, R.I.--Kyle Shadeck set a new meet, pool, and school record in the 200 butterfly as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships concluded at the University of Rhode Island on Sunday.

Men's Highlights

Shadeck finished the 200 fly in 1:49.18, breaking the meet record set by Keene State's Drew Ledwith in 2012, as well as the previous school record of 1:51.41 set by Cole Hogg in 2015.   Pool records from the University of Rhode Island were not immediately available.  The time, currently the 12th best in the country, also represents an NCAA B-Cut for qualification to the NCAA Division III Championships, held from March 21-24 in Indianapolis.  

Antony Hubbard added a fourth place finish in the 1000 free in 10:26.30, whie JT Barth was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.61.   Eric King took home second place in the 100 IM in 54.20, and then teamed up with Hubbard, Shadeck, and Patrick Doyle for a fourth place finish in the 400 free relay in 3:15.96.

KSc finished in fifth place with 406.5 points.

Women's Highlights

Sophie Hayes had the Owls' lone win on the women's side on Sunday, bringing home a victory in the 200 fly in 2:09.88.  Hope Walsh took home two second place finishes on the last day of competition, placing second in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:46.55, as well as second in the 1,650 free in 17:24.57.  

Margaret Dean was third in the 100 freestyle in 54.02, and Hannah Wood was fourth in the 100 IM in 1:03.95.  Walsh, Wood, Dean, and Kristyn Simoneau were the 400 free relay team that finished third in 3:39.25.  

The Owls totalled up 1083.5 points to finish third overall.
