NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Keene State Owls women's lacrosse team saw the Camels of Connecticut College open the game up with four straight goals, a deficit the Owls could never crawl back from as they were taken down 12-6 Wednesday night from Silfen Field.

How it Happened:

The Camels opened up the scoring, netting the first four goals in the opening 13 minutes of the contest as Hannah Lombard contributed two goals, including one free position goal for the Camels. Kate Bermingham and Clara Bisson scored to wrap up an early 4-0 lead. The Owls would muster an attack midway through the first half as senior Erica Chareth got the Owls on the board on an unassisted tally. Connecticut College and Keene State would trade the next four goals in the half, with Keene State getting tallies from Megan Gorham and Haile Ratajack, while the Camels were paced by Kelly Wollin and Emily Yorns in a 6-3 halftime lead for Connecticut College. 

Keene State would open the scoring in the second half and would get within two goals of the Camels for the first time as Tess Masci ripped a shot passed GK Nina Fazio. The Owls would attempt to climb their way out of the two-goal cushion for Connecticut College, but the two-goal deficit would be as close as the Owls would come. Just one minute after Masci tallied for the Owls the Camels would strike as Emily Yorns picked up her second of the night, followed by a Kate Bermingham free position shot, increasing the Camels lead back to four goals. 

Freshman Haile Ratajack collected her second goal of the contest while Keene State was up one player, giving the Owls their fifth goal of the contest, trailing by just three goals. Connecticut College continued to have an answer for Keene State all evening long, as they would score twice in succession, giving Connecticut College the commanding 10-5 lead. Ratajack would score her first career hattrick in an Owls uniform, firing an unassisted goal past GK Nina Fazio, giving the Owls their sixth and final tally of the evening.  The Camels added two late goals, giving them the 12-6 victory.

Inside the Crease:

• KSC was paced by Haile Ratajack on both sides of the ball as she finished with three goals, totaled three ground balls, and was able to come up with three caused turnovers in the contest. 
• In total, the Owls came away with 22 shots while Connecticut College ripped 34 shots on Owls GK Rebecca Koziara. 
• Freshman Emily Yorns continues to impress in her opening campaign with the Camels, as she tallied four goals on the evening. Yorns now has seven goals on the young season, including wining eight total draw controls. 
• The was the second all-time meeting between these two teams. The Camels bested the Owls in the first matchup between these two teams on March 15, 2013 with a final score of 8-5. 
• Tess Masci led all players in the contest with four total ground balls.
