Jacob Pearl and freshman
Sarah Ames turned in strong performances as the Keene State College cross country teams competed at the KSC Invitational at the Cheshire Fairgrounds on Saturday morning.
Men's Results
In a field of 143, Pearl was 16th overall, covering the 8K course in 26:48.4. Following right behind him was senior Robert St. Laurent, who was 23rd in 27:08.8, and also scoring for Keene State were freshman
Ben Harley (59th, 28:47.4), freshman
Zander Egervari (69th, 29:07.7), and senior Cameron Giordano (75th, 29:25.6). Also on the course for the Owls were sophomore Sam Hennedy (92nd, 30:07.2), freshman
Clayton Rodgers (118th, 32:05.9), and freshman
Ted Rockwell (131st, 34:46.2).
Babson's Anthony Rodriguez won the individual race in 25:21.0, leading his team to the title with 53 points.
Women's Results
Ames turned in her strongest performance of the season, finishing as the highest placing LEC runner and eighth overall in a field of 120 runners in 19:46.1. Junior
Grace Furlong was in 34th place in 20:48.5, while junior
Hannah Jones was in 41st in 21:07.8, and freshman
Aurora Couto was in 49th in 21:20.9. Freshman
Anna Logan was in 74th place in 22:27.5, followed by sophomore
Juliana Yialiades (93rd, 23:37.6), freshman
Autumn Boisvert (94th, 23:46.0), sophomore
Rhea Votano (97th, 24:00.5), sophmore
Sara Christian (103rd, 24:28.1), and sophomore
Melanie French (115th, 28:38.7).
Wellesley's Ari Marks was the individual medalist in 18:06.3, while Brandeis won the team title, placing all five of their scoring runners in the top 10.
The Owls return to the races next week, at the Open New England Championships at Franklin Park.
