SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Junior
Jaelin Jang posted one of the fastest times in school history in the 200 butterfly as the Keene State swimming and diving teams competed in a double-dual meet against Springfield College and Wheaton College at Springfield's Art Linkletter Natatorium on Saturday.
Women's Highlights
Jang finished the 200 fly in 2:18.64, the
10th fastest time in school history and just half a second behind the ninth fastest time (Katy Pryor, done in 2005). Meanwhile, the women's 4x400 medley relay team of
Kiley Young,
Paige Carey, Jang, and
Alice Loucraft finished in a time of 4:14.38, the fastest time in the event among LEC schools this year. Young, Carey, Loucraft, and
Gina Nunziata also made up the 200 free relay that finished in 1:44.78, which is also the fastest time among LEC schools in that event.
Men's Highlights
Tyler Young turned in the top performance for the Keene State men, with a second place finish in the 200 IM in 2:12.20, followed closely by classmate
Andrew Daur, in 2:12.95. The 200 free relay team of
Quint Kimmel,
Aaron Turgeon,
Tomas Langland, and
Jeremy Bartley was third in 1:33.44.
Aidan Urnezis was fourth in the 1,000 free in 11:07.12, and
Ben Stafford was fifth in the 100 free in 52.13.
The Owls return to action at home this weekend, hosting NCAA Division II Bentley in the Spaulding Gym pool at 1 p.m.
