NEW BRITAIN, Conn.--Four members of the Keene State College track and field team earned All-New England Honors at the Open New England Championships at Veteran's Stadium over the weekend.
Men's Highlights
Jacob Pearl ran the 800 meters in 1:52.42, finishing fifth overall and second amongst Division III competitors. That time lifts him to 24th in the country, less than one second out of the last qualifying place for the NCAA Division III Championships.
Musese, making his season debut, had a triple jump of 13.89 meters to finish eighth overall. The school record holder in the indoor triple jump, Musese jumped into the national rankings at 50th overall.
Joey Fodor just missed out on an All-New England place in the javelin, throwing 55.39 meters. Fodor's season best throw of 58.38 meters on May 2 at the LEC Championships still ranks at No. 15 in the nation.
Keene State's
Brandon Castor also was in action this weekend, running the 400 meters in 52.73.
Women's Highlights
Sisters Skyler and
Alexis Gauthier both earned All-New England honors by finishing seventh and eighth, respectively, in the heptathlon.
Skyler Gauthier totalled up 3,944 points, while
Alexis Gauthier had 3,749. Full heptathlon breakdowns were not available at the time of publishing.
Shannon Parks was 11th in the shot put at 11.02 meters.
The Owls will make one final push for individuals to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships at the Tufts Last Chance qualifier on May 20 at Tufts University.
