NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.--Junior
Joey Fodor won the javelin throw to lead the Keene State College men's track and field team to a fifth place finish at the 2021 Little East Conference Championships at UMass Dartmouth on Sunday.
Fodor won by throwing 58.38 meters, beating the next closest competitor by more than four meters. Fodor is currently 13th in the nation for the javelin and should hear his name called when selections are announced for the NCAA Division III Championship on May 21.
Jacob Pearl was second in the 800 meters in 1:58.37, as well as second in the 1,500 meters, in 4:04.08.
Samuel Hennedy was second in the 400 hurdles in 1:01.05, while
Rob St. Laurent was second in the steeplechase in 10:20.59.
Brandon Castor was fourth in the 400 meter dash, and also ran the 4x400 meter relay with Hennedy, Pearl, and Cameron Giordano that finished fifth in 3:39.90.
Connor Quigley was sixth in the high jump at 1.65 meters, as was
Dylan Harden in the long jump at 5.99 meters. Harden was also fifth in the triple jump at 12.57 meters.
All first and second place finishers received All-LEC honors. The Owls totalled 52 points to place fifth as a team.
