Track Opens Season At Mary Grinaker Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Shannon Parks and Dawson Hamele both won events as the 2022-23 indoor track and field season got underway at the Mary Grinaker Invitational, at the Smith College Indoor Track and Tennis facility on Saturday.

Women's Highlights

Parks won both the shot put and weight throw events, taking the shot at 12.45 meters, and the weight at 13.69 meters.
The Owls' 'A' relay of Anna O'Reilly, Aurora Couto, Maggie St. John, and Sarah O'Connell won the women's 4x400 meter relay in 4:56.75.
Alexa Hurley was third in the high jump at at 1.42 meters.
Mary Meagher was fourth in the shot put at 9.56 meters.
Juliana Yialiades was sixth in the 800 meters in 2:55.79.
Autumn Boisvert was seventh in 800 in 3:03.97.
Marlena Dwyer was seventh in 200 meter dash in exactly 30 seconds
Molly Lu McKellar was seventh in the shot put at 9.06 meters.

Men's Highlights

Hamele won the high jump at 1.85 meters.
Kyle Maruca was second in the shot put at 11.99 meters.
Aidan Law was second in the long jump at 6.44 meters.
Charles Sette was second in the 1,000 meters in 3:00:45.
The 'A' relay of Elliot DeGray, Tristan Berg, Max Smith, and Eden Damis was second in 1:41.39.
Law was also third in the 200 meter dash in 23.56.
Alex LeBlanc was third in the 400 meter dash in 55.75.
Marty Nelligan was fourth in the mile in 5:05.99.
