LOWELL, Mass.--Shannon Parks' strong effort in the shot put highlighted a solid afternoon as the 2022 outdoor track and field season kicked off for Keene State College at the UMass Lowell Invitational.

Women's Highlights

• Parks was third in the shot put, throwing 12.06 meters.   Parks, who holds the school record at 12.45 meters, is currently 14th in the nation with that mark.  The top 19 throws will qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships, scheduled from May 26-28 in Geneva, Ohio.
• Hannah Jones ran the 1,500 meters in 5:39.97.
• Aurora Couto ran the 3,000 meters in 11:35.60.

Men's Highlights

• Sam Hennedy was second in the 400 hurdles, in 59.40.
• Angel Ramirez ran the 100 meters in 12.08 seconds.
• Ted Rockwell ran the 400 meters in 54.54.
• Jake Pearl ran the 1,500 meters in 4:05.01.
