Parks Wins Discus At Jerry Gravel Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass.--Shannon Parks doubled up in both throwing and running events as the Keene State track and field team competed at the Jerry Gravel Invitational at Westfield State University on Saturday.

Women's Highlights

Shannon Parks won the discus with a throw of 34.48 meters, and was also second in the hammer at 40.47 meters.
Grace Furlong was third in the 5,000 meters in 20:06.
Sarah Ames was sixth in the 1,500 meters in 5:36.29.
Aurora Couto, Juliana Yialiades, Autumn Boisvert, and Ames made up the 4x400 meter relay that finished third in 5:03.64.
Parks, Hannah Jones, Mary Meagher, and Kyleigh Eyl were fifth in the 4x100 meter relay in 1:05.16.
Keene State finished seventh with 33 points.

Men's Highlights

Ben Harley was fifth in the 1,500 meters in 4:29.93.
Cam Giordano was fourth in the 5,000 meters in 16:59.29.
Sam Hennedy was second in the 400 hurdles, in 58.55.
Allan Poller, Dawson Hamele, Angel Ramirez, and Hennedy made up the 4x100 relay in 46.92.
Hamele was third in the high jump at 1.70 meters.
On Friday, two other members of the KSC track and field team competed at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College. Jacob Pearl was sixth in the 800 meters in 1:55.61, and Rob. St. Laurent was ninth in the steeplechase in 9:55.97.
Keene State was fifth out of six teams, with 22 points.
