Ratajack Surpasses 100th Career Goal In 18-4 Win Over RIC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Junior Haile Ratajack netted six goals, including the 100th goal of her career, as the Keene State College women's lacrosse team earned a convincing 18-4 victory over Rhode Island College at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened 

Little East Women's Lacrosse Standings (Final 2022 Regular Season)Ratajack opened up the scoring for the Owls just over two minutes into the first half. The Owls netted six goals in the first quarter before allowing the Anchorwomen to get on the scoreboard. Jackie DeAngelis and Mindy St. Marie netted two goals apiece while Hannah Dworkin tallied a goal to give the Owls a 6-1 lead in the first quarter. 

The Anchorwomen scored first in the second quarter, but the Owls answered with four straight goals. Ratajack netted her third of the game unassisted.  Dworkin then set up Ratajack, St. Marie, and Chase Gengras to put the Owls up 10-2 after the first half. 

The Owls came out hot in the third quarter, netting five unanswered goals. Ratajack found the back of the net again followed by senior Cadence Loos unassisted. DeAngelis set up Ratajack for her 100th career goal for the Owls with 7:33 remaining in the third. St. Marie and Kristin Leslie netted a goal each to give the Owls a 15-2 lead with one quarter to go. 

The Owls continued to outscore the Anchorwomen in the final quarter. Dworkin netted her second of the game with a set up by Ratajack, followed by Ratajack netting her sixth. The Anchorwomen snuck two goals past senior goalkeeper Haley Terva in the fourth. Leslie concluded the scoring for the Owls as they rolled past the Anchorwomen 18-4. 

Inside the Crease 

- Ratajack netted six goals and tallied two assists for a career-high eight points. Her six goals put her at 101 career goals for the Owls. Earlier this week, Ratajack set the new Keene State women's lacrosse record for most caused turnovers in a single season. She has recorded 53 caused turnovers this season. 
- St. Marie netted a career-high four goals. She has scored 11 goals in the past three games, bringing her season total to 23 goals. 
- Terva played all 60 minutes in goal, recording two stops for the Owls. She has a .451 career save percentage. 
- The Owls outshot the Anchorwomen 36-8 and won the ground ball battle 32-24. 
- The Owls lead the all-time series 25-0, having never lost to the Anchorwomen.

  • The Owls, looking to finish third in the regular season, will host the quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 3. 
  • The Anchorwomen will finish last in the conference and not see LEC tournament action.
