Jacob Pearl and junior
Maggie St. John both posted top-three finishes as the 2022 season began for the Keene State College cross country teams at the KSC Alumni Invitational at Owl Athletic Complex.
Men's Results
Pearl finished second overall and was the first Division III runner on the men's 5K course, covering the field in 15:54.20.
Marty Nelligan was next in 16:46.40, followed by
Ethan Holcomb (17:43.30),
Tyler Robinson (18:13.70),
Charles Sette (18:34.30), and
Samuel Hennedy (18:56.50).
Ted Rockwell (20:30.80) and
Michael Gigliotti (23:27.60) completed the contingent of Owl runners.
Assumption's Claudio Rocha won the individual race in 15:25.90, while Westfield State took the team title with four of the top 10 runners in the meet.
Women's Results
Maggie St. John marked her collegiate debut with a third place finish on the two-mile course, in 11:46.90, also the first Division III runner to cross the finish line.
Anna O'Reilly was next in 12:19.70, followed by
Aurora Couto (12:30.60),
Alana Perry (12:48.90),
Sara Christian, (12:57.40), and
Kailyn Fleury (13:00).
The rest of the Owl runners included
Juliana Yialiades (13:43),
Sarah O'Connell (13:46.70),
Sarah Ames (13:56.90),
Autumn Boisvert (13:58.60), and
Melanie French (16:38.70).
Peri Snow of Assumption won the medalist's honor with a time of 11:31.50, while Westfield State won the team race with five of the top 10 runners.
Keene State will next be in action at the Smith College Invitational on September 10.
