BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – In a double-dual meet against Bridgewater State University and Brandeis University Saturday at Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool, Junior
Kiley Young won three events for the Keene State College women's swimming & diving team, while three different swimmers on the men's team won an event.
Women's Highlights
- Junior Kiley Young won the 50 backstroke in 28.47, the 100 backstroke in 1:01.21 and the 400 IM in 4:46.79.
- Senior Jaelin Jang won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.07.
- Jang also finished second in the 50 butterfly in 27.66.
- Sophomore Gina Nunziata won the 100 freestyle in 59.02.
- The group of freshman Rory Lee, senior Laura Chaffee, junior Jill O'Neill and Nunziata won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:57.00.
- The Owls defeated Bridgewater State 202-96 while falling to Brandeis 149-138.
Men's Highlights
- Sophomore Aaron Turgeon won the 100 freestyle at 50.85.
- Junior Jeremy Bartley won the 100 backstroke at 58.40.
- Bartley also finished second in the 50 backstroke at 26.66.
- Sophomore Aidan Urnezis won the 500 freestyle in 5:06.72.
- Urnezis also finished second in the 1000 freestyle in 10:33.71.
- KSC was defeated by Bridgewater State 149-121 and Brandeis 152-111.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m., at Spaulding Pool. The men's team will only take on Plymouth State University, while the women's team will go up against both PSU and Rhode Island College in a double-dual meet. KSC's seniors will be recognized as part of Senior Day. It will also be both teams' last meet before the Little East Conference Championship, which takes place from Feb. 17-19.
