How It Happened

Keene State spotted the visitors from California the first six goals of the game, as the Tigers scored five times in the first quarter while the Owls could not score.  Occidental increased the lead to 6-0 on an unassisted goal from Emma Cho early in the second before Ratajack got the Owls on the board with her first of the season at the 12:37 mark.

The Tigers rattled off the next six goals, taking advantage of six Keene State cards in the first half and scoring three player advantage goals for a 12-1 lead at halftime.

Keene State scored the first two goals of the second half, as Annaliese Rudberg set up Chase Gengras less than two minutes into the third quarter, followed by an unassisted goal for Tess Brown less than 90 seconds later.

After the Tigers' Olivia Okamoto scored with 22 second left in the third quarter to make it 14-4, the Owls ripped off the next three goals, as Ratajack, Mindy St. Marie, and Brown pulled the Owls to within 14-7, but the Owls would get no closer as Occidental netted four of the final five goals of the game.

Inside the Crease

  • Sarah Howe played all but 2:42 of the game, making eight saves.
  • Ratajack's four goals give her 109 for her career, moving her into 14th place all-time in school history.  She needs five more to pass Eliza Witherbee '14 for 13th place.
  • Sophomore Lola Smith made her collegiate debut in the game.
