KEENE, N.H. – Keene State kicked off their inaugural Super Smash Bros. Ultimate season against a tough Farmingdale State B Team, that was in the playoffs last season. The Owls were unable to take on the Rams, in their first ever matchup as they fell, 2-0.

How it Happened
Farmingdale State B came out of the gates on fire, with "Asteria" using Wario and only losing one stock (one life, essentially) to the entire Keene State roster.
Aidan Zimmer, playing as King K Rool, was the only Owl able to take one of Wario's stocks, as Farmingdale State B was able to take the first of three rounds, winning with 11 stocks remaining.
Although Farmingdale State B picked up the win in the second round as well, the Owls showed a lot of improvement.
Liam Slattery, using link was able to take one of Asteria's stocks early on. When it was Zimmer's turn soon after, this time using Piranha Plant, he was able to take the other two of Asteria's stocks. Although ultimately, Asteria's teammate was able to come in and finish the Owls off, it was a big improvement in the second round and gave the Owls some motivation to show that they ended up doing well in the end against a very tough team.
The livestream of the first ever Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for KSC reached a peak viewership of 55 viewers on Twitch.tv, which ranked the KeeneStateEsports livestream in the top five of the game at the time of streaming!
