KEENE, N.H. – Needing a win to clinch a spot in the NACE Starleague Divisional Playoffs, the Keene State College Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team picked up their first non-forfeit win in program history, joining the KSC Overwatch 2 and Rocket League in the playoffs in their inaugural season.

How it Happened
Slattery started off the contest with Link against Lucina for the Amcats. Slattery was able to take a stock before losing one of his own shortly after. A minute later, they both traded stocks again, but Slattery would come out on top and take Lucina's third stock. Dark Pit was up next for the Amcats, and they only lost one stock before taking Slattery's final stock. TheGingerLad was next for the Owls, as Palutena. After both Dark Pit and Ginger traded stocks, Ginger took Dark Pit's final stock, bringing KSC to the halfway point of picking up the game one win, as they had eight stocks left, and AMC had just six remaining. Sora was next up for the Amcats, and they hung on through the round to not lose a stock against Ginger, as they took his final two stocks, knotting the game up at six stocks remaining apiece. Next for the Owls against Sora was Sour as King K Rool. Sour and Sora both traded stocks to open the round, but then Sour managed to take Sora's other two stocks before losing any, as AMC was down to their final three stocks of the first game, as KSC still had a pair from Sour and three from Tadpole remaining. Terry was the last hope for the Amcats, as they looked to mount a comeback against the Owls, but Sour did not let it happen, as the Owls picked up their first game in program history, with five stocks remaining.
Slattery started off as Link to open game two against Lucina of AMC again, and he easily took the first two stocks from Lucina, before losing one of his own. Slattery finished off Lucina shortly after, as he took their last stock, with two of his own remaining. Dart Pit was next again for AMC and they were able to pull the Amcats to even with the Owls, as they took both of Slattery's remaining stocks, leaving each team with nine remaining. Ginger was next for the Owls as Palutena again. After Ginger took two of Dark Pit's stocks to open the round, Dark Pit responded back with taking all three of Ginger's stocks, as AMC look to force a third game, now up seven to six in stocks remaining. Sour as King K Rool came in next for KSC and dominated the Amcats, as after he finished off Dark Pit, he also took all three stocks from both Sora and Pit, as he finished off AMC by taking their final seven stocks, with six left for the Owls, giving them their first win in Super Smash Bros Ultimate program history (non-forfeit) and clinching a spot in the NACE Starleague Divisional Playoffs in their inaugural season.
