Keene State Esports is a Varsity member of PlayVS College League (PCL). Rocket League Varsity
Keene State Varsity Rocket League looked to continue an undefeated start to their season against Rochester Community and Technical College on Tuesday, February 23rd

Game 1: The teams jockeyed for position to begin the game, and the stalemate was broken by RCTC's Skyler with a goal at 1:57. Skyler followed that up with a second goal shortly after at 2:37 to put the Yellowjackets up 2-0. Skyler would score a third time at 4:10 to increase RCTC's lead to 3-0 with 50 seconds remaining in regulation and the Owls were unable to answer as they fell down 1-0 in the series.

Game 2: Much like the first game in the series, both teams held one another scoreless for the first two minutes; this time KSC broke the tie as Jack "Jackattack1600" Manning got KSC on the board at 2:08 with their first goal of the series to take a 1-0 lead. Jackattack struck a second time at 2:26, with a goal assisted by Eric "Twisty9" Carlo to put the Owls up 2-0. The scoring kept coming for KSC as Andrew "Aurorxs" Sorcinelli knocked in his first goal of the contest at 2:34, assisted by Jackattack, which gave the Owls a 3-0 advantage. Twisty9 would score a goal of his own at 4:36, assisted by Aurorxs and the 4-0 lead gained from that goal would go on to be the final score as KSC tied RCTC 1-1 in the series.

Game 3: With momentum on their side the Owls got on the board at 0:44: the earliest goal in the series thus far as Twisty9 knocked in an assist by Aurorxs. Twisty9 would score his second goal of the game at 2:04 to put KSC up 2-0. At 3:12, Twisty9 scored yet again to secure a hat trick. Aurorxs scored at 2:55 to expand the lead to 4-0. This lead would end regulation as Keene State closed in on match point.

Game 4: A three minute battle of attrition marked the game four until it was broken by Twisty9 at 3:04, assisted by Aurorxs. This lead was increased to 2-0 when Aurorxs scored an amazing unassisted aerial goal at 4:22, which Aurorxs described as a "musty into a reset". With twelve seconds remaining, Jackattack knocked in a goal to make it 3-0 in favor of KSC, which would go on to be the final score. After being held scoreless in game one, Keene State managed to hold RCTC scoreless in three straight games en route to a 3-1 series victory and improving to 4-0 on the season.

What's next:
Varsity Rocket League has a challenge ahead of them on Tuesday March 2nd as they hold back-to-back games against University of Cincinnati Black (3-1) and University of Wisconsin-Stout (3-1) at 7:30 and 8:00 PM respectively.

Rocket League Academy
KSC Rocket League Academy took on Columbia International University Gold on Tuesday.

Game 1: The Owls got things going first as Ryan "Dreamz" Morrison scored at 1:15, assisted by Joe "Julio" Aste to put KSC up 1-0. CIU answered back as B1GTURK scored at 1:37 to tie it up. This tie persisted for the rest of regulation and triggered sudden-death overtime. At 0:43, Gamehawk scored for the Rams, giving them a 2-1 victory and 1-0 series lead.

Game 2: The game was scoreless for almost three minutes to begin, and the tie was broken by Dreamz as KSC took a 1-0 lead. Casey responded for CIU at 3:34, assisted by Gamehawk. This 1-1 tie went to the end of regulation and yet again overtime was needed. This time, KSC scored the game-winning goal as Dreamz scored unassisted at 0:35 to win the game for the Owls with a 2-1 score and tying the series 1-1.

Game 3: The fastest goal of the series came in game three, as Casey got CIU on the board just ten seconds in. Just ten seconds after that, Julio scored for KSC, tying the game. 25 seconds following that, Casey scored again and put CIU up 2-1 with 4:15 remaining. Off of the next kickoff, CIU scored again, as B1GTURK knocked in a goal at 0:50. Casey did the same, scoring at 0:54, putting CIU up 4-1 and earning a hat trick all within the first minute of the game. Casey scored for a fourth time at 2:34, extending the lead to 5-1.

The Owls dug into the deficit a bit as Julio scored an unassisted goal at 3:51. However, Casey would score a fifth time in the game to put the Rams up 6-2. With four seconds remaining, Gamehawk scored to make it 7-2 in favor of the Rams, which would be the final score of the game.

Game 4: Continuing off a hot game three Casey scored first in game four, assisted by Gamehawk at 0:30. Julio kept KSC alive with a goal at 2:26, assisted by Aidan "kCrona" Law.  The Owls would take the lead off of the ensuing kickoff as Dreamz scored at 2:32, also assisted by kCrona. B1GTURK tied the game 2-2 at 3:16, assisted by Casey.  This tie lasted into the closing moments of the game, but Gamehawk knocked in a miss off the backboard and scored with one second remaining, giving CIU a 3-2 victory, securing a 3-1 series victory over KSC Rocket League Academy.

What's next:
Rocket League Academy looks to get their first win of the season against George Mason Green at 8:15 on Tuesday March 3rd at 8:15 PM.

Overwatch
KSC Overwatch took on Ohio State University Gray on Wednesday night.

Map 1: Keene State won the opening coin toss and selected Ilios as the first map of the series. On the first hill, KSC captured the point first and held it to 99% before OSU fought back and secured it. Ohio State captured 23% of the point before the Owls muscled it back, getting 100% progress and winning the first point in this best-of-three game mode. After a scrappy first team fight, the Owls took the control point first and progressed it to 84%; OSU would then take it to 35% until KSC took it back. They would then hold it to 100%, taking a 2-0 map victory on Ilios and a 1-0 series lead.

Map 2: OSU Gray selected Numbani as the Hybrid map and began on attack. With four minutes to attack an initial control point, OSU overwhelmed KSC and captured it in just 42 seconds. The Owls were now tasked with defending Ohio State's attempts to push a payload cart through the rest of the map. OSU would complete Numbani by capturing the third and final check point, with one minute and 44 seconds remaining.

On attack KSC were stifled a few times by the Buckeyes but would eventually capture the control point with one minute and 12 seconds to go, which allowed them to begin pushing the cart. KSC were able to push the cart 69.20 meters towards the second check point but were stopped several times over by OSU and were unable to capture it. This signalled a map two defeat for KSC as the Buckeyes tied the series 1-1.

Map 3: With a loss on Numbani, Keene State selected New Junk City as the third map of the series. In this first-to-three game mode, the Owls captured the first flashpoint first and held it all the way to 100% completion, taking a 1-0 lead. The Buckeyes responded in kind but grabbing the second flashpoint first and holding it to 100%, tying it 1-1. KSC grabbed flashpoint three first and held it all the way to 89% until OSU took control back. In the next retake fight, KSC won out and took the point, which gave them a 2-1 lead.

OSU took the third flashpoint first and progressed it to 51% before KSC took it for themselves, progressing it to 49% before the Buckeyes took it back. They would then hold it for the remainder of the hill, tying the game at 2-2 with the Owls in a win or go home situation. On the fifth and final flashpoint, teams traded control with one another with the score at one point being 60%-39% in favor of the Owls. However, once the Buckeyes retook control, they stomped the final attempts from KSC to take the point back and rode it to a 3-2 victory, taking a 2-1 series lead in the process.

Map 4: KSC chose Esperança as the fourth map of the series. OSU took early control of the game, progressing the robot to 73.67 meters of progress before the Owls finally won a teamfight to gain control. KSC moved the robot 29.60 meters before Ohio State took it back. The remainder of this game saw a tug of war where the Owls and Buckeyes traded teamfight victories. Unfortunately, with such a strong start for OSU, KSC were unable to take control of the game fully and would see OSU finish the map, bringing the robot the full 141.97 meters needed to win. KSC did not move the robot past 29.60 meters. As a result, the Owls were defeated 3-1 in the series and fall to 2-2 on the season.

What's next: KSC Overwatch will compete next on Monday March 2nd as they take on Pennsylvania College of Technology.

VALORANT

Map 1: Bind
The Owls started on defense, tasked with defending two sites from the attacking SJU team. The squads alternated round wins with one another and by round eight, were tied 4-4, and by the end of the first half, tied 6-6. On attack, the Owls were able to pull away from SJU, as they won six out of the eight rounds of the second half and achieved match point territory with SJU down 12-8. In round 21, KSC were able to close out a 13-8 map win on Bind and take a 1-0 series lead. Team captain Hailey "HMeesh" Michaud led all players with 24 kills and was third in assists with 9. Thomas "Chumbladorfian" Czwakiel followed closely with 20 kills, the only other Owl to eclipse that mark on Bind.

Map 2: Haven
Like Bind, KSC began Haven on defense. Unlike Bind, the Owls pulled away early, taking a 10-6 lead into the seventeenth round. However, SJU Charlie made clear they were going to fight as they would win five out of the next six rounds to tie the game at 11 all as each team neared the 13 round wins needed to secure victory on Haven. KSC would win round 23 to go up 12-11. In round 24, Sheldom "redblast' Vasquez and Gavin "Melatonin" Pierce found themselves against three SJU players in a situation where a round win secures the game for KSC and a win for SJU triggers overtime.

Redblast found SJU's "zenmango" with a kill as Melatonin fell to SJU's "DooDoo". In a 1 on 2, Redblast was able to hold strong, killing DooDoo, and "ST Toaster" to clutch the game for the Owls, ensuring a 13-11 Haven victory and 2-0 series overall. Chumbladorfian led all players with 24 kills, followed by Jeremy "yerrei" Giguere with 19.
