MEDFORD, Mass. – The Keene State College indoor track and field teams had one final chance for national qualifying marks on Saturday when a select group traveled to the Gantcher Center on the campus of Tufts University on Saturday.
The highlights of the final meet before the NCAA championship in Birmingham, Alabama next weekend included a national top 40 time from the men's distance medley relay group of
Griffin Urnezis,
Ethan Vitello,
Keith O'Donnell, and
Tyler Bolaske, which finished in 10:09.45 – bettering their time from a week ago by 14 seconds. Their mark is currently No. 39 nationally, outside qualifying range, but does add a sixth mark within the national top 50 this indoor season – two of which are well within qualifying range.
Aidan Law is 19th in the long jump with his 7.19-meter mark from early December and
Molly Lu McKellar 20th in the pentathlon with a converted 3,471 points from February 27. Law was forced to pass on his final three attempts of the day in the long jump, placing fourth with a mark of 6.67 meters.
Kyle Thomas also traveled and picked up a silver medal in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 6.94 seconds but was edged by .14 seconds by Jordan Harrison of Amherst College.
KSC's 4x400 meter relay group of
Keely Giordano,
Mia Cruz,
Caroline Cooper, and
Elle MacDonald finished in 3:59.58, nearly seven seconds faster than the time posted at the LEC championship by Cruz,
Miranda Poirier, MacDonald, and Giordano. It was also just .48 seconds from a 21-year-old school record set by Sarah Miller, Courtney Bates, Krystin Gavin, and Breanne Lucey.
Selections for the 2026 NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships will be announced tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, March 8) on ncaa.com. In addition to Law and McKellar, Bolaske is 30th in the mile – a slot that last year would have had a chance of qualifying depending on competitors' other events.
