Biography
Junior (2014-2015) NEISDA Champion in the 1,000 freestyle...second in the 500...placed 6th in the mile and made the B final in the 500 at the MIT Invitational
Sophomore (2013-14): Second in the 1,000 freestyle at the NEISDA Championships...third in the 1,650 freestyle...fifth in the 500 free
Freshman (2012-13): Finished third in the 1,000 and 1,650 free and fourth in the 500 free at the NEISDA championships...also had several strong swims at the MIT Invitational
Before KSC: A four-year member of Glasttonbury (Conn.) High School swim team...qulaified for State Class (LL) championships in his final three seasons...received team "Rock" award for his dedication to the team....junior team just missed going undefeated, losing by two points (94-92) to longtime power Fairfield Prep...broke five minute mark in the 500 as a senior...swam the past five years fo SONOCO club team, qualifying in the 1,500-meter free for the Northeast Sectional meet in Buffalo...older brother Andrew competed at the University of Iowa while younger brother Joseph is a senior at Glastonbury High and looking at several Division I teams...cousin Tom Wilkens earned a bronze medal in the 200 I.M. at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia....Matthew is a seconday education/history major.
