Sophomore transfer from Charlestown Southern University who begins first season running for the Owl cross country team….will also compete on the track for KSC, concentrating on the 800-meter race…start of season was curtailed by leg injury.

Before KSC: Top finish at Charleston Southern came at the UNC Asheville Invitational where she finished 31st, running a season best 20:58…named to the Big South Presidential honor roll…ran two years of cross country and track and also was a member of the Nordic ski team at Harwood (Vt.) Union High School…placed in the top-10 at state cross country meet as a senior….team won consecutive state (Division II) titles her junior and senior year….placed second in the 800 at the state outdoor meets as a senior…team won back-to-back state titles her junior and senior year….used Nordic skiing to cross train for track….brother Anshe plays hockey and lacrosse at Harwood Union….Yana hopes to major in exercise science.
