FITCHBURG, MASS. 9/16/00 – Senior co-captain Carrie Trudeau (Saco, Maine) had two goals and an assist to lead Keene State College to a 3-0 victory over Fitchburg State in a Little East field hockey game played Saturday in Fitchburg, Mass.
It was the second straight win for KSC (4-1) and the first loss of the season for Fitchburg State. Last season FSC defeated Keene State in a late season game that hurt the Owls post-season hopes.
Sophomore Delta Paquette (east Sullivan, N.H.) opened the scoring with her first collegiate goal to give KSC a 1-0 lead. Trudeau scored with just over two minutes ti play in the half to make it a 2-0 game. Her second of the game and third of the second midway in the second half completed the scoring.
Lindsay Hamilton (Brattleboro, Vt.) and Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me.) combined for the Owls' second shutout of the season. KSC outshot FSC 18-1.
Angela Buffington made 10 saves for the Falcons.
Keene State returns to action on Tuesday when they host Trinity College at 6pm.
