KEENE, NH 10/20/01- The Keene State College field hockey team
extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-0 Little East
Conference victory over UMA-Dartmouth in Keene on Saturday.
Keene State concludes its regular season with a 10-9 (7-3 LEC)
record. UMA-Dartmouth concludes its season with a 3-13 (2-7 LEC)
mark.
The Owls scored all their goals in the first half. Annie Timson
(Derry, NH) put in a rebound shot 52 seconds into the game to give
KSC a 1-0 lead. It was her team leading 10th goal of the season.
KSC took command by scoring three goals in an eight-minute span
midway in the half. Tanya Strong (Hatfield, MA.), Liz Peltokenges
(New Ipswich, NH) and Nichole Dallas (Marlow, NH) tallied to extend
KSC's lead.
Honored before the start of the game, KSC senior goalie Lindsay
Hamilton (Brattleboro, Vt.) made two saves for her fifth shutout of
the season. Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me.) made one save after
entering the game with 15 minutes to play.
Meghan Apostolec finished with seven saves for the Corsairs.
Keene State will play a first round LEC Tournament game on Tuesday.
The opponent and placed have yet to be determined.
