KEENE, N.H. 10/8/01- Annie Timson (Derry, N.H.) and Tanya Strong
(Hatfield, MA.) had two goals and one assist each to lead the Keene
State College field hockey team to a 4-1 Little East Conference
victory over Salem State in Keene on Monday.
The win snapped KSC's (7-7, 5-2 LEC) two game losing streak.
Salem State (2-9, 1-6 LEC) lost its third straight game.
The Owls scored the first three goals of the game. After Timson
put KSC ahead 1-0, Strong netted the next two goals, her fifth and
sixth of the season, to give KSC a 3-0 halftime lead.
The Vikings cut the lead to 3-1 on a goal by Jessie Gill's
(Woburn, MA.). Timson scored on her own rebound for the final goal
of the game. It was her sixth goal of the season.
Lindsay Hamilton (Brattleboro, Vt.) (one save) and Amy Carroll
(two saves) each played a half in goal for the Owls. Emily King
(Wilmington, MA.) (three saves) and Jeannette Gordon (East Boston,
MA.)(five saves) also played one half each for the Vikings.
Keene State will host New England College on Wednesday (6:30
p.m.).
