KEENE, N.H. (11/16/01) - The Keene State College men's basketball team began its 2001-02 season with a 108-63 victory over Notre Dame (N.H.) in a first round game of the KSC Invitational Friday at Spaulding Gym.

Sophomore Chris Timson (Beverly, MA.) had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Derek Swenson (Attleboro, MA.) finished with 16 points to lead the Owls. David Cudworth (Sanford, Me.) had 14 points and Bennett Pawlusiak added 12 assists.

The outcome of the game was never in doubt as the Owls raced out to a 54-35 half time lead.

Erik Poulsen had a game high 23 points to lead Notre Dame (1-1).

Keene State (1-0) will face Fitchburg State in the Championship game on Saturday. The Falcons advanced with a 90-64 win over New England College in the other first round game. Issac lane led FSC with 19 points.
