Springfield, MA. 11/29/01 - The Keene State College men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the 2001-02 season, a 92-88 double overtime setback to Springfield College, Thursday night at Blake Arena.

Keene State sophomore Dave Cudworth (Sanford, Me.) led the Owls with a season high 24 points and nine rebounds. Chris Timson (Beverly, MA.) finished with 16 points. Dave Stantial (11 points, 12 rebounds) and Derek Swenson (12 points) rounded out KSC double figure scorers.

Keene State held a 86-82 lead with 3:20 to play in the second overtime. Michael Parker, who led the Pride with 28 points and 14 rebounds, scored six of SC's 10 points in a decisive 10-2 run to end the game. His jumper with :34 seconds left put the Pride ahead for good at 90-88.

The Owls return home to face UMA-Boston (3 p.m.) in their first LEC game of the season on Saturday.
