Late Goal By Dallas Gives KSC Field Hockey Win

FRAMINGHAM, MA. 9/18/01 - Nichole Dallas (Marlow, N.H.) scored with 2:04 remaining in regulation to give Keene State College a dramatic 2-1 victory over host Framingham State College in a Little East Conference/Alliance field hockey action on Tuesday. It was the fourth straight win for KSC (4-2, 2-0 LEC). Framingham State falls to 2-2 (0-2 LEC).

Dallas' game-winner, her second goal of the season, was a hard drive from just inside the circle. 'After I hit the ball, I thought someone else put it into the net,' said the sophomore back. 'I was just happy we didn't have to go into overtime.'

KSC Caitlin Henley (Somers, N.Y.) opened the scoring with 22:52 left in the first half when she tipped in a shot from Melissa Harnch-Smith (Newburyport, MA.). FSC knotted the score a minute late on a goal by Jamie Shannon (Framingham, MA.). The game reMEd tied until Keene State pressed the attack in the closing minutes and Dallas was able to capitalize.

Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me.) (two saves) and Lindsay Hamilton (three saves) each played a half in goal for the Owls. Megan Johnson (So. Dennis, MA.) finished with four saves for the Rams.

Keene State will host regional power Williams College on Thursday (6 p.m.).
