SOUTH HADLEY, MA (9/22)- The Keene State College women's
volleyball team lost a pair of hard fought matches at a tri-meet
hosted by Mount Holyoke College at South Hadley, MA., on Saturday.
The Owls lost their opening match 3-2 to host Mount Holyoke. The
game scores were 30-20, 24-30, 25-30, 30-24 and 14-16). Kristin
Mullins (Turners Falls, MA.) had 10 kills and 20 digs to lead the
Owls.
Keene State lost its second match to Westfield State 3-1 (27-30,
29-31, 30-24 and 25-30). Mullins finished with 11 kills and 27 digs
and Deb Hughes (Ashalnd, NH) added 12 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore
setter Stephanie Benard (Candia, NH) averaged 45 assists in the two
matches.
'Despite the two loses, it was the best we played all season,'
said KSC Coach Scott Price.
Keene State's record falls to 2-8.
The Owls' host LEC power Eastern CT on Wednesday in a 6 p.m.
match.
