Owl Women Roll Past Endicott 75-39

KEENE, N.H. 1/10/02- Keene State College outscored Endicott College 45-15 in the second half on the way to posting a 75-39 non-conference women's basketball victory Thursday at Spaulding Gym.

Playing in just her second game for the Owls, Andrea Arsenault (Dover, NH) had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead KSC. The sophomore forward, who previously played at Franlin Pierce College, hit 11 of 12 shots from the free throw line.

Cathy Mechare (Falls Village, CT) had a season-high 12 points while Erika Forsberg (Laconia, NH) finished with 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

Keene State, which has won four out of its last five games, improves to 8-4 on the season while Endicott, which suffered its fourth straight loss, falls to 5-7.

Leading by six (30-24) at half-time, the Owls broke the game open with a 17-4 run to start the second half. They took a 47-28 lead on a lay-up by Forsberg with 12:59 to play.

The Gulls, who hit just six shots in the second half, were led by Lindsay Cotter (Pelham, NH) who finished with 11 points.

Keene State returns to Little East play on Saturday when they host UMA-Dartmouth in a 1 p.m. game.
